physicians in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

Q. Should I contact my insurance provider before
becoming a patient at Nashua Medical Group?
A. Yes, if your plan requires a primary care
provider be selected please contact your insurance carrier and let them know your choice of primary care physician.
Billing
Q. Why did I get a bill from Nashua Medical Group?
A. In most cases, well send you a
bill only after the insurance company has denied services. Many times,
this is because a patients insurance carrier has changed and we
havent been notified of the change. Please keep your insurance carrier
information current with our office.

Q. Why isnt my insurance paying for this service?
A. If you have a question about your insurance
providers non-payment of a particular procedure or treatment, contact
the member services department of your carrier for clarification of your
benefits.

Q. Can you resubmit a bill to my insurance provider?
A. Yes, well be happy to resubmit
a claim if the original claim was incorrect (for example, an incorrect
ID number or claims office address).

Q. Why did I get a bill from Path Lab, St. Josephs Hospital, etc.?
A. If you receive a bill from a specialist
or another provider facility, you should contact their billing department
for clarification of the bill.

Can I make payments on my Nashua Medical Group account over the phone?
A. Yeswe accept credit card payments
over the phone.

Why do I have to co-pay for a visit with a Nurse Practitioner or Physician
Assistant?
A. Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
are clinicians who treat illness and are able to prescribe medication.

Q.
Where is the referral office located?
A. The referral office is now located inside
the Internal Medicine department.
Q. I went to my
doctors office for my appointment, but my referral wasnt there.
Why?
A. Referrals generally take 3-5 business
days to process. Once your referral is signed by your primary care physician,
we are required to process the referral in a manner specified by your
insurance provider.

Q. Do I need a referral for routine visits with
my OB/GYN or eye doctor?
A. It is best to check with your insurance
provider to verify your benefits and specialist network before receiving
any services.

Q. Can my primary care physician write a referral for a specialist visit
I already had?
A. No. We do not write referrals for services
that have already occurred. You are responsible for notifying your primary
care physicians office prior to receiving any services with a specialist
or facility. You should also keep track of the number of visits youve
had with the specialist so you can notify your primary care physician
when you need a new referral.

Q. When I call the referral office, I sometimes
get a voicemail message. Can I leave information on this line? How do
I know the information was received?
A. Yes. Please leave a message that includes
your name, date of birth, primary care physicians name, specialists
name, reason for your visit and your appointment date. If you do not receive
a confirmation letter within a few days, please give our office a call
to check on your request. You will get a call back from us only if we
have questions about your referral request.
